Dr. Shailaja K Prasad is a very experienced dentist who has worked internationally. She excelled academically receiving her dental degree from Nagpur University in 1999 following which she gained clinical experience in Mumbai and Bangalore before heading to the UK.
In London, she worked and received training in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Guy’s Hospital, King’s College Hospital, and Queen Mary’s Hospital all affiliated to the National Health Services in England. She was awarded the MFDS RCS (Eng) (Membership of the Faculty of Dental surgery, The Royal College of Surgeons of England) in 2005.
Dr.Prasad has successfully completed the 300-hour MaxiCourse® of the AAID (American Academy of Implant Dentistry) and is a member of good standing of the aforementioned academy.
Dr. Shailaja Prasad is a Dawson scholar, graduating from the Dawson Academy, USA. This specialized training has enabled her to diagnose and treat patients suffering from TMD i.e. pain related to the jaw joint, patients needing treatment of a worn dentition, and manage patients who show signs of night time clenching and grinding of their teeth. She practices “CR Dentistry” to help give predictable results for a long-lasting dentition.
She is proficient in taking care of the medically compromised patient, the pediatric patient, procedures involving cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, endodontics, crown and bridge and oral surgery including wisdom tooth removal, minor oral surgical procedures, and full mouth rehabilitation.
She also practices “Biomimetic Dentistry” using the Dental Operating Microscope and uses filling materials that mimic the biology of the different layers of the tooth, in the pursuit of saving teeth with large decay from the dreaded root canal treatment.
She personally believes in tooth conservation and therefore practices minimally invasive dentistry with a strong focus on a hygienic and ethical dental practice.
Dr. Madhu Preetha , completed her post-graduation in Periodontics, from the esteemed SDM of Dental Sciences, Dharwad. She has worked as an Assistant Professor and Professor in the Department of Peridontics, in Krishnadevaraih Dental College and Hospital, Bangalore, & Sharavathi Dental college ,Shimoga . She secured the second rank in her postgraduation examination of RGUHS. She is one of the few periodontists who carries out periodontal procedures under the microscope. She has been involved with research and has national and international articles published in her name .
